Designed and tested by Special Forces Operators conducting HAHO/HALO jumps in extremely cold environments. This high-altitude exposure suit has been operationally proven on HAHO/HALO operations in the Arctic Circle. This suit has successfully demonstrated its performance at temperatures of -60°C (-76°F) at altitudes up to 35,000 ft (10,668 m). Tough and durable, this suit will also provide extra protection against injury during rough landings in harsh environments.
HAHO Thermal MILITARY Suit Advantages
- The inside front of the suit is lined with thermal insulation to provide protection against the wind and temperatures, while the back is not lined, except the seat area, allowing the body to breathe during long pre-breathes in the aircraft. Arms are fully insulated.
- The high, cold weather collar ensures skin protection between the helmet and top of the suit.
- The cuffs on the ankles and wrists utilize Velcro® closures to provide a secure fit, to help maintain position during freefall, and to preserve warmth within the suit.
- Leg openings are large enough to accommodate boots without removal.
- 20 gauge clear vinyl (map & chem-light pockets) remains flexible at freezing temperatures.

High Altitude Capabilities
The Thermal Suit 2000 comes ready to support all of the equipment necessary for successful HAHO/HALO operations.
- The radio pouch is positioned on the inside left against the jumper’s upper abdomen (just below the chest strap area) to minimize its exposure to extreme temperatures and prolong battery life. The radio’s position also allows for quick access when necessary.
- The radio pouch has integrated channels and covered flaps for routing the wires for a push-to-talk switch and headphone / earpiece.
- Chem-light pockets are strategically positioned for front and back visibility during night jumps. One (1) on each upper arm, and one behind each lower leg, Four (4) in all.
- A large, clear map pocket 6 x 10 in (16 x 25 cm) is located on the front of the right leg, just above the knee, for easy visibility while sitting in the plane or while under canopy.
- The map pocket is removable via a secure Velcro attachment and is permanently attached to the suit via a 33 in (83 cm) lanyard. The pocket is clear on both sides to allow more document accessibility to the operator.
- A life-raft lanyard attachment point is located on the side of the right leg.
